Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck: Story Review

This is a “story review” of the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck. It is a story review because while it is a product review of Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck, it is also a story of how I managed to produce three DJ Cat Scratchers in just one week.

Before we proceed, let me come clean and say that I and my friends do not believe in declawing cats, some of the reasoning will pepper this review so, just a heads up. Ok, now that we got that out of the way, on to our “story review” of the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck.

Late last year, we bought a cardboard laptop toy for our cat-love friend. He works as a writer and is nowhere more than a couple of feet from his laptop when he is at home. Our friend also has a problem with his cats because they keep tearing and scratching his furniture upholstery up.

We bought him a cardboard laptop that is specially made for cats. It is very sturdy and the keyboard acts as a scratch pad for his cat. It was meant to be a funny prank or a joke, later on, that week, he reported back to us that his cats love it. Not more than a month later his Instagram feed is peppered with pictures of his cats posted on the cardboard laptop looking pensive, funny, sleepy, drunk or whatever.

Turned out that cardboard laptop was from Suck UK Cat Playhouse Series.

When I checked on Amazon, I found the next best thing to the cardboard scratch laptop, the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck.

The Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is basically its own name, it’s a cardboard DJ scratch deck for your cat, instead of pumping out beats, it gives your cats tons of fun time, gives them something to scratch aside from your upholstery and furniture, it is a cheap and endless supply of joy, plus the videos and photos that you get of your cats (and sometimes small dogs) posing on it or using it for your social media accounts is pure gold.

SUCK UK CAT SCRATCHING DJ DECK DETAILS

Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck review

Like I said, the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is a scratching deck for cats that is made out of cardboard. Just like the Suck UK Cardboard Scratching Laptop from the Playhouse series, the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is quite sturdy and very easy to assemble. It can take quite a room coming in at 13.8 inches in length, by 5.8 inches in height and 15.2 inches in width. It is like a small turntable ready to turn your house cats to the regular DJ Cat Scratcher.

The Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is pretty light at about 15 ounces, but it is pretty sturdy. I have seen 20 pounds of weight on it, and it holds up pretty well.

The Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck comes with this cool moveable and posable arm much like a real DJ deck and the deck itself is detachable and moveable and made of sturdy materials that can withstand scratching.

It is moderately priced at around $30 dollars, but do not be put off by the price and the cardboard built, because as you can see from its pictures and reviews online, it is quite sturdy and very tough. And speaking of price, the Instagram pictures of your cats posing as the next DJ Cat Scratcher on your Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck alone is more than enough to compensate for it.

EXPERIENCE WITH THE SUCK UK CAT SCRATCHING DJ DECK

Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck experience

As you can already tell, we have had a positive experience with the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck. You can check out of Facebook and Instagram stories, and not just us but our “Cat DJs” and our “Scratchers,” because they are just so cute.

But, it is not all positive, cute and cuddly cat DJ stuff, let us be reminded that the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is first and foremost an equipment for our cats. Not just any other equipment, but something that is healthy and beneficial if used properly by our cat family. Basically, the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is a fun substitute for our cats scratch posts or scratching posts.

A scratch post or in this case, a scratch toy is very important for our cats because they help promote our cat’s “claw health.” The act of scratching is a very natural and normal thing for our cats to do, it is engrained in them as part of their hunting instincts. Scratching helps them sharpen their claws as well as help remove dead layers of it to keep it safe for them and easier to use. If they do not have a scratching post or scratching toys, our cat family will resort to scratching whatever it is they can get their claws on, sometimes that means scratching our furniture or your wife’s new drapes.

In some cases, our cats lost their natural instinct or, is stunted because of years of domestication, giving them fun alternatives – not to mention cute alternatives – such as the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck help keeps the scratching instincts at bay.

Like I mentioned above, I am not a big fan of declawing cats, we are basically modifying out cats to save our furniture and our drapes? While I understand the frustration we can do better by just exploring other options to keep our cats healthy.

Speaking of fun and effective alternatives for instincts and exercise, the tall scratching post is designed that way so that our cats can have a wonderful time stretching and limbering out as they do their scratching. This is also the same with a spinning deck that the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck has. Not only is it a good stretching and limbering practice for our feline family, it is also great for their exercise. Not to mention that it is also a wonderful way to release pent-up energy for your little fur balls who seem to find the middle of the night as a wonderful time to go about exploring the noisy parts of the house.

We have also found that having the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is a great way to reduce stress, both for us and our cats. Any cat lover or serious cat owner would tell you that having a balance between health and emotion is key to a happy cat and that it is also important to consider the health an emotion of the owners as well when it comes to this. We can’t have a healthy cat if the owners are always stressing out about an overly energetic cat who keeps on clawing the drapes and the mattresses right? Believe me when I say, that having toys or cat furniture like the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is a real stress reliever both for the cats and the cat parents.

Another thing that we have noticed when using the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is that we have been more open in terms of communication with our cats more. Like I have mentioned, we have three cats all in all, and having the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck at home made us know them a whole lot better. We now know who the more dominant one is, and the bossier one based on their usage of the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck. It is also the reason why we now have three Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck at home. One for each cat. Yup, you read that right, they all have their own Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck now.

The bossier cats or the more alpha cats have both marked the original Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck and they tend to sleep on it to hog it or be very aggressive with the others because of it. That left us with two problems; one, a small cat that wants to play with the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck but can’t because of the alpha cats, and he tends to be mopey and sad about it and two, another dominant cat that would fight the bigger and bossier one for the right to play with it. So my wife decided, why not buy all of them their own Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck. Not just that, we also bought them their own Suck UK Cardboard Laptops. (We spoil them too much, we know.)

While we do stress that our cats seem to love it, and their experience on it as well as ours have been nothing but fun and enjoyable, we want to make a point to remind you guys that the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is no miracle product where you just put it in the corner and the cats magically come and play with it.

During the first hours, half a day I think, the cats would not touch it. All three looked at it suspiciously from afar and just stared at it. One of the more adventurous started to paw at it, but we almost gave up on the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck thinking that our cats were not really interested in it. It got to the point where my wife and I were even thinking about cat loving people where we can pass the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck too.

Later that night as we were about to go to sleep, my wife decided to tape one of their toys to the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck. She remembered that all of the three are toy motivated.

Later that evening we finally noticed the cats playing with the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck. The morning later, they were full on playing with it, and two or three days later, we had our first Instagram and Facebook posts of our DJ Cat Scratchers. More or less a week later, the cats are fighting over it, another month later, we had three Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck.

THE FINAL VERDICT ON THE SUCK UK CAT SCRATCHING DJ DECK

At this point, the final verdict on the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck as you can tell is already in. Yes, we recommend it, we recommend the hell out of it. It is a creative way to keep our cats healthy not just physically and emotionally. Plus, like I said, I am not a supporter of declawing our cats. Claws are a natural part of our cat, it is a natural part of who they are as feline hunters. Rather than removing their claws, we as pet owners, specifically cat owners, we should find a way to look for creative ways to keep their claws healthy. Having a fun toy like the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck at home gives our cats the alternative aside from the traditional scratching posts that our cats use.

Another reason why I want to recommend the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is that of the company itself. The Suck UK is such a creative company and comes up with great products plus they never undersell or under design their products. We need more companies like these to support our love for our feline family.

Before closing, I understand that people tend to veer away from the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck because of the price point which is an average of around $30 dollars, plus the fact that the material is made of cardboard. Trust me, it is not like the regular cardboards that you would imagine. It is sturdier and well-built than you would think. Believe me, I understand the fear because the price point minus the description for the Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck makes it easier to rationalize but if you tack in the “cardboard” description in there, then comes the doubts. But trust me, Suck UK Cat Scratching DJ Deck is pretty well worth it.
