PetSafe ScoopFree vs. LitterMaid? Both are popular options when buying a self-cleaning or automatic litter boxes for your cat. They are also in the same price range which might make choosing the right one even harder. Let’s explore the features and benefits of both options to decide which one might be better for your cat (and you!)
PetSafe ScoopFree vs. LitterMaid: Let’s Compare

Ease of Cleaning
Size
The LitterMaid Automatic Litter Box is also designed to serve a single-cat household and it measures 24 x 17 x 10 inches and the ramp measures 13 ¾ x 8 inches (WxH).
This litter box is already messy enough when used by one cat so just imagine if more than one cat uses this litter box.

Smart Features
The PetSafe ScoopFree Litter Box has a sensor that detects if your cat has used the litter box and has a time delay for about 20 minutes that starts when your cat leaves the litter box, and this delay gives more time for better absorption before it starts auto-cleaning the litter box.
The rake starts to pull all the solid waste products into the receptacle and this cycle only takes just over a minute.
The LitterMaid Litter Box has the same feature as the previous which is the sensor which starts its 10-minute timer after your cat has left the litter box and then the rake starts pushing the waste materials into the waste container.
The downside to this is the rake itself as it is very loose in a sense that it is not able to take out the smaller clumped waste into the waste receptacle, and it just sits in the litter bed.

Conclusion: PetSafe ScoopFree vs. LitterMaid
If you are specifically looking for a single-cat option for a litter box within the cheaper price range, my opinion is the PetSafe ScoopFree would be a better choice over the LitterMaid Self-Cleaning Litter Box. I would still highly recommend the Litter Robot 3 as it has more features, benefits and can be really great for owners with multiple cats.
PetSafe ScoopFree is still more preferable because it is just more sanitary albeit being a bit more expensive than the LitterMaid as it doesn’t really do a good job at cleaning up after your cat, to the point that you would have to go scoop the clumped waste out yourself. Furthermore, it also leaves a huge amount of scatter alongside the litter box and even under the ramp attachment, and these are what make the LitterMaid very unsanitary. However, some advantages include: its affordability and that a variety of cat litter can be used.
PetSafe ScoopFree, on the other hand, is a bit more expensive than the LitterMaid, however, it just makes cleaning up easier and more convenient for you. Not only that it does a good job at odor control but also does a good job at cleaning up after your cat’s mess on the litter tray. Another advantage is its My PetSafe App which is a feature you can have if you choose its smart model which lets you view and monitor your cat’s health activity.
