Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain Review: Not What I Expected

I am always seeking the best cat water fountain for my felines to keep them nourished and well-hydrated. When I came across the Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain, I was initially thrilled to test it. However, to my dismay, the product failed to meet my expectations, leaving me disappointed and unsatisfied.

In this review, I will share my honest thoughts on the Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain after testing it for six months and explain why it fell short of its promises.

Material

Upon unboxing the product, I was immediately taken aback by its flimsy construction. It lacks the durability I had anticipated.

Catit Senses 2.0 is made of polypropylene (PP), a commonly used inexpensive plastic material. Even though it’s BPA-free, I find the material very thin and easy to break compared to the Petlibro cat fountain.

This frailty not only compromised the aesthetic appeal of the product but also raised concerns about the potential for bacterial growth and hygiene issues. I had expected the materials to be more resilient and resistant to wear and tear.

Filtration

The Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain incorporates a filtration system that claims to purify your cat’s drinking water in three different ways.

The first filtration stage involves a cotton mesh that filters out the debris and larger particles from the water. The second stage of filtration utilizes active carbon, which plays a crucial role in removing odors and further eliminating impurities from the water. The last phase uses an ion exchange resin in its filtration system. This resin acts to soften tap water, reducing the presence of minerals and potentially improving the overall quality of the water provided to your cat.

While the filtration stages seem compelling in the description, as the product claims, it does not meet my expectations. Our filter gets clogged quickly, even after replacing them every week. Because the filter gets easily clogged, it impedes the flow of water and ultimately becomes a nuisance for me and my cat.

Noise Level 

In terms of noise level, I was disappointed again with Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain.

The fountain made a significant and unpleasant noise from the moment I set it up and continued to do so during its operation. The continuous humming and buzzing grew highly annoying. 

What’s even worse is the fountain’s performance. After barely six months of use, the pump suddenly stopped working, so I had to throw away the complete unit. This unexpected malfunction was upsetting and annoying, as I had hoped for this water fountain to last longer.

Size

The Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain measures 9.0 x 8.3 x 7.7 inches. While the fountain may be appropriate for some cats, it was too small for my feline companion, who likes a larger water source from which to drink comfortably.

Furthermore, the design of the water streams did not correspond to my cat’s tastes. The streams were placed in such a way that my cat was not enticed to drink.

Despite the product’s claim to give a stimulating drinking experience, my cat appeared uninterested and unaffected by the water flow. It is another frustrating this as it contradicts the purpose of purchasing a cat water fountain designed to encourage proper hydration.

Ease of Cleaning

When it comes to cleaning, I would rate the flower fountain average. Each component of the fountain is easily accessible, enabling thorough maintenance and preventing the buildup of dirt and grime.

Cleaning can be done using water and natural soap, which aligns with the preference of many pet owners who seek gentle and eco-friendly cleaning solutions.

Design

Catit Senses 2.0 has a unique flower design that can look enticing for cats. I can say that the design is adorable, and you can easily place it anywhere around the house. My guests find it cute, too, so it is an ideal conversation piece.

You can also purchase separate placemats to enhance its aesthetics. You can choose from a flower-shaped placemat or a peanut-shaped placemat, which includes a removable stainless steel dish for easier dishwasher cleaning.

Price

In terms of pricing, it’s cheap and fair indeed (check the current price here). I admit, it might work for some cat owners who are looking to save money however, I’d recommend spending a little more and getting a better option e.g. Petlibro cat water fountain.

Catit is a well-regarded brand in the cat product industry, known for its innovative and interactive products designed specifically for cats. Their focus on understanding and addressing cats’ unique needs has earned them a significant following among cat owners seeking quality and engaging solutions.

Catit’s products prioritize practicality while also featuring visually appealing designs that blend well with home environments. However, it’s important to remember that while Catit has a positive reputation, individual product performance may vary.

Always consider specific reviews and personal experiences to ensure the product meets the demands of both the cat and the owner.

Conclusion

Overall, I am not satisfied with the features and specifications of Catit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain. The material, filtration system, noise level, and size are all disappointments for me and my feline companion.

In terms of price, you can definitely get a better cat water fountain in the market with the same amount of money you paid for a Casit Senses 2.0 Flower Fountain. We really love the Petlibro brand of water fountains.
