It’s still one of the best robotic litter boxes for multiple cats on the market and it’s still available for purchase on the official website at a cheaper price point.

I have a few cats at home. I’ve been using the Litter-Robot 3 for years and I could not be happier. It was expensive but I can say it was my best investment ever and my only regret was that I didn’t buy it sooner!

Litter-Robot 3 is exactly what its name suggests. The efficiency and convenience of this self-cleaning litter box have significantly simplified my daily pet care routine, particularly in handling cat poop, which is always a challenge for any cat owner. It literally looks like a badass robot ready to wage war on errant cat litter and funky-smelling cat urine.

Besides price, I especially love these things about Litter-Robot compared to other robotic litter boxes in the list:

What I love the most about this smart cat litter box is that it is compatible with several types of cat litters, such as plant litters, mixed litters, and bentonite clay litters. 

It features the following sensors listed below which not all self-cleaning cat litter boxes have:

• Proximity Sensor – strategically placed at the entrance of Pura X that stops the moment your cat approaches the litter box.
• Infrared Sensors – two infrared sensors also placed strategically on both sides of the entrance that stop working when your cat tries entering the litter box.
• Weight Sensors – four weight sensors placed at the bottom of the drum that stop working the moment the drum senses any changes in the weight.
• Anti-Pinch Infrared Sensors – 12 of these sensors placed in the drum itself that stop working once your cat enters the litter box.

PETKIT Pura X also features remote alerts, which is their accident protection system that sends messages directly to your smartphone in case the litter box detects any emergencies. This is something one would want to have in a smart device like this. The bin was spacious and could fit one average-sized cat comfortably. It also had three types of sensors built for the safety of feline companions.

Setting up the litter box was easy, and all the necessary accessories, including a user manual, filters, and a waste drawer roll liner, were included. However, the litter tended to clump, requiring more frequent cleaning and taking up more time.

One significant downside of this litter box was the customer support. I had trouble reaching out to customer support to resolve issues with the device. While it may not be a dealbreaker for some, it’s important to keep in mind when considering this product.

The Catlink self-cleaning cat litter box also comes in a luxury pro version that has smart features like the ability to connect to an app. However, I find it a little bit overpriced when considering the features and the fact that there are superior or similar options available for a better price.
