Skoon Cat Litter is a popular cat litter with subscription and this is because of its many advantages such as optimum odor control, highly effective absorption, great texture that your cat can acclimate with fairly well, and it is made of all-natural materials. And this is what separates Skoon Cat Litter from other regular cat litter because of the fact that it is made with health, safety, and environment in mind. We will talk more about this later.
We tested the Skoon Cat Litter ourselves for this review and here is what we found out.
Skoon is an earth-based litter; it is lightweight, non-clumping, absorbent, and it encapsulates liquids and odors quite well. The company claims that the liquids and the odors will disappear into granules.
When you open the box, it includes two disposable litter boxes, the Skoon Cat Litter itself, and a scoop.
First off, the disposable box itself already has the litter in it therefore this one showed that it was dust-free, however, we have a slightly larger cat and he didn’t really warm up into using the disposable litter box because it is quite a bit small for his size, we opted to use the pack of Skoon Cat Litter and poured it into our own cat litter box and upon pouring, we clearly saw that it is not 99% dust-free while we were pouring new pack of litter.
We can say that the odor control works pretty good as we left it and did not scoop out anything for a few days and upon checking back, there was no indication of urine and fecal odor. Another good thing is that there was also no indication of saturation and the absorbency was excellent.
One thing we noticed was it was quite loud when our cats were using the litter box especially at night and we could even hear them across the room.
We have tested the Skoon Cat Litter for a solid 14 days and another advantage we noticed is that even if we didn’t clean it for a few days, we did not notice any moisture and odor issues at all. However, after 14 days, we started noticing the saturation at the bottom of the box. You will be able to notice it because of the off-white gray particles that turned yellowish and we noticed that the saturation was always at the bottom of the box. Then when we started stirring and cleaning it up, we started noticing a bit of odor.
Skoon Cat Litter Review Quick Summary

The Skoon Cat Litter is an all-natural, non-clumping, absorbent cat litter. If you are looking for a cat litter that is highly effective at keeping your house odor-free and will provide you ease of maintenance then this is the cat litter for you. This cat litter works as advertised and you will be surprised as there are only quite a few products that are like this. We tried and tested it on our very own cats, they warmed up pretty easily to it and it worked very well for them in the long run. You can get Skoon Cat Litter for as low as $24.95 per month, depending on the subscription you choose.
Skoon Cat Litter General Review
The Skoon Cat Litter, in our opinion, works excellently. The odor control really stood out; it was phenomenal because it wasn’t until day after 14 days when we only started noticing the smell. The absorbency is also very outstanding as it really works as advertised. It is a great use of maintenance because you would not need to scoop out urine ever and what also made it cool is that you will not smell any urine scent at all even up-close.
The only disadvantage the Skoon Cat Litter has is that it is way too absorbent to the point that you won’t be able to evaluate your cat’s health by just looking in their litter box. Therefore, if your cat has kidney disease or diabetes, they would be urinating more and this can be the first indicator whether there’s something wrong or not. If you can’t tell how much your cat is urinating, you won’t be able to tell if there’s something wrong or if they are just perfectly fine. If the litter box is left in 2 weeks, the litter box will already become saturated, and it will become harder to know what’s going on. The Skoon Cat Litter is too absorbent therefore it is too good.
The Skoon Cat Litter is a low-dust litter provided that you use the small disposable box they give you, however, if you are going to use the new litter pack and pour it into your own litter box, you will surely notice a huge plume of dust flying around. One more advantage that this cat litter hasr is that you will not notice dust in your cat’s paws or while jumping out after digging into their litter box.
Another advantage of the Skoon Cat Litter is less tracking because the litter pebbles are big enough that they don’t have a chance at getting stuck into your cat’s paws.
Ease of maintenance is what we are all looking for in a cat litter and the Skoon Cat Litter did really well on this because it is very absorbent and there is no need to scoop out the urine. With the subscription, they will send you new supplies every 4 weeks.
In terms of cat friendliness, it also worked pretty well for us as our cats were able to adjust and warm up easily on it but it will still depend on your cat because like us humans, every cat is different. However, in my opinion, most cats would prefer a larger litter box than what Skoon provides, especially if your cat is larger than their disposable litter box.
The only problem you might encounter is that you will not be able to monitor your cat’s urine output and it can be quite expensive depending on the number of cats you have. Other than that, it works quite well as they advertised it.

Consumer Reviews Of Skoon Cat Litter From Amazon.com
It’s pretty expensive but it really helps when things get hectic and you can’t scoop the box every single day. No smells and the cat doesn’t track litter EVERYWHERE like she does with normal litter. Honestly, for the sake of not have litter strung about the house, this stuff is worth it.
And yes, we’ve even used all kinds of special mats in front of the box to try to cut down on how much litter was scattered with traditional litters, it helped minimally, but she still would get litter stuck between her toes and spread it around. Trust me, Skoon is a nice change of pace and will keep your house tidier. |
I can’t say enough about Skoon! When I think back on how much I dreaded coming home from a long day of work, to then be welcomed with an awful stench and a messy floor, I realize I waited too long to give Skoon a try, but as soon as I saw it on Amazon I knew I had to do it. I can’t smell anything, I don’t have to clean up sandy floors, and I don’t have to scoop, PERIOD. I love coming home! It has only been a week and I am SOLD! |
I bought this litter to use while I was traveling in a car with my cat. It worked very good because I could put just a small amount in a 4 inch high litter box and it was very light weight. In the pet friendly hotel my cat didn’t track litter all over the room. Just removed her poop and flushed it in toilet, don’t do that with clumping litter. When she peed in litter there was no smell. While I stayed at friend’s house it was very easy to keep litter box clean and there was on mess or smell. Now that I’m back home it’s working very good too. There is no dust and only the small piece of the litter to sweep up once in a while. Kitty seem to like it too. Buying it by bag and putting in bigger litter box. |
Is The Cost Of Skoon Cat Litter Fair?
In my opinion, the cost of Skoon Cat Litter is very fair as it does work as advertised and that fact only shows that it is worth a try. Don’t hesitate to try the Skoon Cat Litter as they feature a 30-day free trial and a 30-day money back guarantee.
However, I would prefer Pretty Litter to Skoon cat litter, because it’s cheaper, lightweight and most importantly comes with a health monitoring feature.
I was going to try this, but the med site SAYS it has options for more than three cats, but when you try to go to that option it says ‘nothing here’. Not very helpful for somneone with 8 cats.
Oh wow, that’s a bad website experience. Try either Kitty poo club or Tuft+Paw cat litter instead.
